What is your deposit and payment policy?

We ask for a 20% deposit to hold your reservation at the time of completing our booking document.  This deposit is fully refundable up until 60 days ahead of your arrival, at which time the balance is due.  All of the details related to your dates and specific amounts for cleaning and taxes will be described in the booking document we send you.

What is the process for making a reservation?

Our reservation and booking process is fairly straightforward, and none of our guests to date have had any issues completing this step.

First, we ask to speak to our new guests by phone.  This gives us a chance to answer any questions you may have about the house or our booking process.

If you would like to move forward to reserve some dates, then we generate a booking document that contains the details of your stay, along with the City of Marathon vacation rental agreement, and our House Rules.  We send this document to you as a PDF via email.

If everything is correct, we simply ask you to return the signed pages where signatures are required, along with your deposit fee to complete your reservation.

Do you provide kayaks or bikes with the rental?

Yes, we have two kayaks at the house which are provided for our guest use during their stay.  We have a couple of safety vests and several paddles for kayakers.

We don’t currently provide bikes as they require a fair amount of maintenance and upkeep, and we like to focus on maintaining the pool and other equipment around the property.

Do you have fishing equipment at the house we can use?

We do not provide fishing equipment for our guests because most visitors either bring their own, or go out on charters while visiting.

It is also very difficult to maintain fishing equipment in usable condition, so we have given up trying to do so.

How far is it to Key West?

It takes about an hour and 10 minutes to drive and be parked in Key West.  It is one of the most beautiful stretches of the Keys Overseas Highway, and we highly recommend a day trip for those who have not been.

In the other direction, we also recommend visiting Islamorada, where you will find a lot of unique gifts, Keys original art boutiques, and restaurants.
